Project Overview

Aviva partnered with DCM to create a memorable pre-film advertisement for Cineworld's "Please Switch Off Your Phone" campaign. The ad blended humor and a touch of drama to engage cinema audiences while reinforcing Aviva's commitment to protection and security. The goal was to create relatable and authentic characters whose styling subtly complemented the ad's narrative and message.

Scope of Work

  • Styled the cast to reflect the personas of everyday cinema-goers with a mix of casual and professional looks.
  • Sourced wardrobe pieces that aligned with the ad's light-hearted yet grounded tone.
  • Ensured all outfits contributed to the relatability of the characters while meeting the requirements of on-screen visuals.
  • Worked closely with the director and creative team to refine styling choices for consistency and impact.

The ad required styling that felt authentic and relatable, portraying characters that audiences could see themselves in. I curated a wardrobe featuring casual attire, whilst also sourcing three large high end chicken costumes. Each piece was chosen to reflect the diversity and realism of cinema audiences, ensuring the characters felt approachable and genuine.

During the shoot, I worked on-set to make adjustments as needed, ensuring the wardrobe complemented the lighting, set design, and overall aesthetic. Special attention was paid to maintaining continuity and ensuring that the characters’ looks resonated with the ad’s theme of everyday life.

The result was a visually engaging and relatable ad that successfully connected with cinema audiences, reinforcing Aviva’s messaging in a humorous and memorable way.
